Enlightened Society Leadership & Service Program

Enlightened or awake society begins with personal transformation, training and leadership from each individual.

The Enlightened Society Leadership Program at Davis Shambhala Meditation Center is a Shambhala Buddhist training program emphasizing the path of profound service and community engagement. Participants sign up for three-month periods, offering 10-15 hours of service to the center a month. In return, they receive

  • leadership training workshops;
  • a regular study group;
  • a Shambhala meditation instructor; and
  • free programs in Davis and other northern California Shambhala Centers

By awakening to our own bravery and compassion and working with others, we can bring tremendous benefit to the world.

Participants can concentrate in various areas such as Event Hosting, Program Coordination, and Department Assistants such as Programs, Families & Children, Communication & Marketing, Membership, and Practice & Education.

Check-Ins and Study Group takes place twice a month. Study emphasizes the connection between the Shambhala teachings and service as path.

Leadership Training Sessions are taught by senior Bay Area Shambhala teachers and are offered on weekends at centers around the Bay Area and Northern California.
