For centuries, the Heart Sutra has been recited in meditation centers all around the world. Succinctly expressing the truth of emptiness, it is one of the most profound teachings of the Mahayana—and its short form, the Prajnaparamita Hridaya, is surely one of the most widely known Buddhist Sutras.

We will engage in sitting meditation, recitation, logical analysis, and group discussion to investigate this central text, with an emphasis on the application of its teachings to our own life.

Acharya David Schneider is an author and an artist. He has practiced Buddhism since 1970, first under Shunryu Suzuki and Baker Roshi.  In 1985 he became a student of Chöyam Trungpa Rinpoche and later of his son and successor Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche, who appointed him Acharya (senior teacher).  He lives and works in Cologne, Germany.

The Friday evening talk can be attended separately for a $20 fee.
