What everyone on the Buddhist Mahayana path shares is the inspiration to rest in uncertainty -- cheerfully.  The root of suffering is resisting the certainty that no matter what the circumstances, uncertainty is all we truly have.  Ani Pema's teachings encourage us to experiment with becoming comfortable with uncertainty, and then see what happens.  What we call uncertainty is actually the open quality of any given moment.  When we can be present for this openness -- as it is always present for us -- we discover that our capacity to love and care for others is limitless.

For five Thursday evenings, we will read aloud several short (pithy) teachings from Ani Pema and discuss their applicability in our respective daily lives.  Also, short videos by Pema Chodron will be presented to augment the readings.  Meditation instruction and follow-up meditation interviews will be available, and if you have not had an introduction to shamatha meditation, you will be encouraged to receive this orientation.

Ani Pema's book entitled: Comfortable with Uncertainty: 108 Teachings on Cultivating Fearlessness and Compassion will be available for purchase, plus a few will be available in the Library for check-out by member
