Ongoing Offerings

Our center offers a rich array of weekly ongoing offerings free to the public. All are welcome.

Open Public Meditation Times

The following times are available for people to join us for meditation. We prefer that you receive Shambhala meditation instruction before joining these sessions, though you are welcome to come sit if you are an experienced meditator from another tradition. (You are still encouraged to receive the instruction, to better understand our style of practice.)

  • Sundays — public sitting 9:00 am
  • Every weekday morning M-F — public sitting 7:00 am

Rising Suns Children’s Program

First and Third Sundays                             8:45-10:15 am

The Davis Shambhala Center is beginning a new children’s program lead by four members of the sangha with complimentary backgrounds as parents of young children, educators and leaders in the Shambhala Center. The new program is being developed to offer children a space to be themselves, while nurturing parents’ personal practice. We hope to create a space within the Davis Shambhala community for children to connect with their own goodness, wisdom, kindness and strength, and encourage families to explore teachings together as they manifest principles of Shambhala in their lives at home. The children’s program will be offered from 9-10 am on the first and third Sundays of every month in the library, adjacent to the meditation room at the Davis Center. Questions can be sent to the program coordinator at DavisShambhalaKids@gmail.com.
